Gents Seat
This is a cluster of rocks on the south west of the Yercaud hills overlooking the Ghat road and the town of Salem to the south. There is a natural rock formation in the form of a seat where reportedly a white English lady of yester years spent her evenings viewing the magnificent panorama before one’s eyes.
Lady's Seat
Lady’s seat has got its own fame for the wonderful view and one can see the winding road passing through the coffee estates snaking ground the bend. It attracts many tourists who can view through a telescope from here, instilling their aesthetic perspective for Mother Nature. This view point perhaps got its name in reverence to our lady –mother of Jesus Christ. The steep cliff has a drop of many hundreds of feet. It is a nerve – wracking experience for one to look down the steep cliff
Pagoda Point
Pagoda point is one of the major tourist attractions in Yercaud located in the eastern part of Yercaud hills. Also, called as Pyramid point, Pagoda point is the best place to embrace the mind with serenity. The poised landscape continues to mesmerise any of the tourists visiting Pagoda point. Crisp breezes, bird-eye view of the Salem city and tranquil ambience characterise the mystic Pagoda point.
Hogenakkal Falls
The Kaveri is considered to form at Talakaveri in the Brahmagiri hills in the Western Ghats of south India and gathers momentum as the land drops in elevation. It becomes larger as various tributaries feed into it on the way down. At Hogenakkal, the Kaveri, now a large river drops and creates numerous waterfalls as the water cuts through the rocky terrain. In places the water falls as much as 20 m and is said to sound like continual thunder. The river carries sediment which makes the downriver land fertile Boating in Hogenakkal is allowed during the dry-season as the falls are not strong enough to disrupt the passage of the boats.
