Srirangapatna Summer Palace
Kempe Gowda in 1537 A.D built this fort, which was extended later by Hyder Ali, father of Tipu Sultan both were the great warrior kings who fought against British. The fort includes Ranganatha Swamy Temple and Place of Tippu`s Body found after the Mysore war in 1799 A.D. Summer palace is the wooden palace built by Tippu Sultan to take rest in the war time.

The dam was built across river Kaveri in 1924 by M. Visvesvaraya a famous architect and Scientist of Karnataka it has a beautiful Brindavan gardens.
Chamundeswari Temple
The original shrine is thought to have been built in the 12th century by Hoysala rulers while its tower was probably built by the Vijayanagar rulers of the 17th century. The goddess Chamundeswari also known as Mahishasuramardhini who killed the demon king Mahishasura (The name Mysore derives).

The Government Botanical Garden, Udhagamandalam was established in 1848. Its architect was William Graham Mclvor. The Gardens, divided into several sections, cover an area of around 55 hectares, and lie on the lower slopes of Doddapetta peak.

Thiruchendur
Thiruchendur Temple is known as the Second Arupadai Veedu Temple.This Gopuram was constructed 300 years ago. The temple and Gopuram will be visible at sea for twelve miles around. Originally, the Temple was built by sandstone, and due to corrosion by the sea near the temple the structure of the temple started to disintegrate. A sannyasi named ‗Mouna Swami‘in 1900 A.D. started the rework. And over 72 years, the three Pragarams were constructed by black granite stone.
Ramanatha swamy temple
Ramanathaswamy Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Shiva located on Rameswaram island in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is also one of the twelve Jyotirlinga temples. It is one of the 274 Paadal Petra Sthalams, where the three of the most revered Nayanars (Saivite saints), Appar, Sundarar and Tirugnana Sambandar, have glorified the temple with their songs. The temple was expanded during the 12th century by Pandya Dynasty, and its principal shrines sanctum was renovated by Jeyaveera Cinkaiariyan and his successor Gunaveera Cinkaiariyan of the Jaffna kingdom. The temple has the longest corridor among all Hindu temples in India.The temple is located in Rameswaram considered a holy pilgrimage site for Shaivites, Vaishnavites and Smarthas. The presiding deity, the Lingam of Ramanathaswamy (Shiva), is believed to have been established and worshiped by Rama.
Madurai Thirumalai Nayak palace
Thirumalai Naicker Palace is 1.5 Kms from the Meenakshi temple, this Mahal (Palace) was built in 1636 by the ruler whose name it bears. The design and architecture is a blend of Dravidian and Islamic styles. The Interior of the palace surpasses many of its Indian contemporaries in scale. The interior is richly decorated, whilst the exterior is treated in a more austere style. Among other striking features of the palace are the massive white pillars, several of which line the corridor that runs along the courtyard. Connected by high decorated arches, these pillars measure 20m in height and have a circumference of 4m. Elsewhere, there are polished black stone pillars of varying heights. This Palace is a classic fusion of Dravidian and Rajput styles.
Thiruparankundrum
Thiruparankundram Murugan Temple is the first among the six adobes (Arupadai Veedu Temples) of Lord Murugan. Temple was built by the king Maravarman Sundara Pandiyan in the 8th century. This is the holy place of Lord Murugan getting married with Deivanai.
Madurai Meenakshi Temple
Meenakshi Temple also called as Meenakshi Amman Temple or Meenakshi Sundareshwarar Temple spelled as Meenatchi Temple is a historic Hindu temple located on the southern bank of the Vaigai River. It is dedicated to Meenakshi, a form of Parvati and her consort, Sundareshwar, a form of Shiva. The temple is at the center of the ancient temple city of Madurai mentioned in the Tamil Sangam literature, with the goddess temple mentioned in 6th century CE texts.
Palani Murugan temple
Arulmigu Dhandayuthapani Swami Temple is the First of the Six Abodes of Murugan (Aarupadai veedugal). As per Hindu legendary beliefs, Sage Narada visited the celestial court of Shiva at Mount Kailash to present to him a fruit, the gnana- palam. He decided to award it to whichever of his two sons who first encircle the world thrice. Accepting the challenge, Murugan (Karthikeya) started his journey around the globe on his mount peacock. However, Ganesha, who surmised that the world was no more than his parents Shiva and Shakti combined, circumambulated them and won the fruit. Murugan was furious and felt the need to get matured from boyhood and hence chose to remain as a hermit in Palani.

Trichy Rock Fort
Tiruchirappalli Rockfort is a historic fortification and temple complex built on an ancient rock. It is located in the city of Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India. It is constructed on a 83 metres (272 ft) high rock. There are two Hindu temples inside, the Ucchi Pillayar Temple, Rockfort and the Thayumanaswami Temple, Rockfort. Other local tourist attractions include the famous Pallava-era Ganesha temple and the Madurai Nayak-era fort. The fort complex has witnessed fierce battles between the Madurai Nayakas and Adil Shahi dynasty of Bijapur, Carnatic region and Maratha Imperial forces. Aurobindo Ashram
The Sri Aurobindo Ashram is a spiritual community (ashram) located in Pondicherry, in the Indian territory of Puducherry. The ashram grew out of a small community of disciples who had gathered around Sri Aurobindo after he retired from politics and settled in Pondicherry in 1910. On 24 November 1926, after a major spiritual realization, Sri Aurobindo withdrew from public view in order to continue his spiritual work. At this time he handed over the full responsibility for the inner and outer lives of the sadhaks (spiritual aspirants) and the ashram to his spiritual collaborator, "the Mother", earlier known as Mirra Alfassa.. Five Rathas Pancha Rathas (also known as Five Rathas or Pandava Rathas) is a monument complex at Mahabalipuram, on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal. Pancha Rathas is an example of monolithic Indian rock-cut architecture. The complex was carved during the reign of King Narasimhavarman I (630–668 AD): the idea of realising monolithic buildings, an innovation in Indian architecture, is attributed to this ruler. The complex is under the auspices of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage site inscribed by UNESCO as Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram.
Shore Temple
The Shore Temple (built in 700–728 AD) is so named because it overlooks the shore of the Bay of Bengal. It is a structural temple, built with blocks of granite, dating from the 8th century AD. At the time of its creation, the site was a busy port during the reign of Narasimhavarman II of the Pallava dynasty. As one of the Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram, it has been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984.It is one of the oldest structural (versus rock-cut) stone temples of South India.
Arjuna’s Penance
Arjuna's Penance is a story from the Mahabharata of how Arjuna, one of the Pandava brothers, performed severe austerities in order to obtain Shiva's weapon. The idea, which pervades Hindu philosophy, is that one could obtain, by self-mortification, enough power even to overcome the gods. In order to protect themselves, the gods would grant the petition of any ascetic who threatened their supremacy in this way - a kind of spiritual blackmail, or "give to get." (This meaning of the word "penance," by the way, is specific to Hinduism. Unlike the Catholic rite of penance, it is performed to gain power, not to expiate sin.)
